So I guess my question boils down to: has anyone out there had any issues trying to play these [games on Windows XP? Listed here are all 1225 known games released for the PC-98. Sierra On-Line, LucasArts, and Westwood Studio games in general.But I really want to make sure my Win 98 games work. Ideally I'd just go with 32-bit XP, at least there's a Steam client for this (although not officially supported anymore). There is just something magical about the old DOS games that just brings back memories and takes many of us back to our childhood or a time when things were simpler and just as much fun. Windows 98, useful for when trying to run older games under a Windows 98. ClassicReload was setup for preservation of 6,000+ old retro abandonware games and abandoned OS/interfaces that you can play DOS games online right in your web browser for education and research purposes. Some of the games should be ok to run natively in DOS but for the ones that need windows I'm undecided as to whether to go with Win 98, Win ME, or XP. old DOS games, DosBox is compatible with Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10.
